DNA – 10-mil single-ply heads available in clear and coated finishes, offering an open and responsive sound with plenty of natural sustain.

Generator – Two 7.5-mil plies with a bonded outer ring, producing a thicker and more controlled response with reduced sustain.

Signal – Heavy 14-mil single-ply heads designed to provide additional durability while retaining the feel and response of a single-ply construction.

Blast – 10-mil bass drum batter heads featuring built-in dampening to control overtones and produce a focused, punchy bass drum sound.

Grip-Tight Rim Technology

At the heart of Code drum heads is the brand’s Grip-Tight rim technology. Code uses a deep, double-knurled steel core crimped within an aluminium or steel outer rim, depending on the range, securing the PET film without the use of glue.

This construction is designed to hold the film securely while allowing the head to seat naturally on the drum and respond consistently during tuning and playing. The Grip-Tight design is used across a broad selection of Code heads, allowing players to choose between different ply configurations, film thicknesses and dampening options while retaining the same underlying approach to rim construction.

Code was founded by drummer James Potts in 2014, with the brand continuing to develop its products and range over the following years. Today, Code offers heads for a wide variety of drum kit applications alongside specialist and signature designs.

The brand also works with Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain, who is a partner in Code and has his own Boomer signature range of tom and snare heads. These sit alongside Code’s core ranges and provide another option for drummers looking for a distinctive combination of attack, projection and durability.
