Yamaha Tour Custom Hire Kit
The Tour Custom comes in 10″, 12″, and 16″ floor tom, a 22″ kick, and a 14″ snare. It can be set up to suit, whether that's both rack toms with the floor tom or a stripped one up, one down.
Heads on this kit rotate regularly and are kept at a functional standard rather than a fixed spec, so it's worth getting in touch beforehand if the exact heads matter for your gig.
Tour Custom sizes: 10″, 12″, 16″ FT, 22″ kick, 14" snare

Recording Custom Hire Kit
The Recording Custom comes in 10″, 12″, 13″, 14″ floor tom, and 16″ floor tom sizes, paired with a kick in either 18″, 20″, or 22″. You're not tied to one fixed setup with it.
That runs from a full three up and two down, down to a compact festival setup of one up and one down, or jazz sizes built around the 18″ kick. Tell us the sizes you're after, and we'll set it up that way.
On heads, we generally aim to keep a set of coated Ambassadors on this kit, though they change from hire to hire, so it's worth asking us what's currently fitted.
Recording Custom sizes: 10″, 12″, 13″, 14″ FT, 16″ FT, with 18″/20″/22″ kick options

Hardware, Stool & Drum Rug
Both kits come with a full hardware pack as standard. Everything travels in proper hardcases.
- Three cymbal stands: either two booms and a straight or three booms depending on what's needed, all mixed brand and double-braced
- Snare stand, kick pedal, tom holder, floor tom legs, hi-hat stand, and a hi-hat clutch
- More stands than the standard pack can usually be sorted on request
- A stool or a drum rug can be added too if you ask
Snares, Heads & Cymbals
The Recording Custom kit does not come with a snare as standard. We can add a functional snare to the Recording Custom on request, and the Tour Custom has a matching snare available the same way.
We do our best to send every kit out roughly tuned for the gig it's going to, but between casing, transport, and changes in climate, kits can naturally drift out of tune along the way, so it's worth giving the drums a check before you play. Heads can also change from hire to hire, so it is worth checking with us if you want something more specific.
Cymbals aren't included as standard on either kit. If you need them, we can usually put something together from our secondhand stock, though cost depends on what we've got in and the quality you're after, so check with us ahead of time.
Hire Process
Before collection
Because our kits get booked up quickly, it's worth getting in touch as early as you can, though we can often sort something within a few days if you need to. Before you come to collect, let us know what you'd like to hire and what it's for, either over the phone, by email, or in person, and we'll have it ready and boxed up in hardcases for when you arrive.
When you collect
When you pick up, we'll take a deposit. It's fully returnable, though the amount changes from time to time, so it's worth asking our team what it currently is. We'll check the kit over to confirm exactly what's going out, then load it in from our warehouse shutter.
When you return
When you bring it back, it comes in through the same shutter, and we'll need five to ten minutes to check everything over before we sort out the return of your deposit. For current pricing and availability, drop us a line, or pop in for a coffee or tea and a look around the shop.
