Showcasing the Brand New Meinl vintage Hyde and Vintage Canvas Collection! Some of the nicest cases we've had in store!
We’ve recently had the Meinl Vintage Hyde and Waxed Canvas cymbal and stick bags arrive at Graham Russell Drums, and they’ve instantly become some of the nicest-looking cases we’ve had through the shop in a long time.
These aren’t just practical gig bags — they feel like a proper part of your setup. They’re the sort of cases you’d happily lean against your kit on stage or carry into a rehearsal, knowing they look every bit as good as the cymbals and sticks inside them.
Meinl Vintage Hyde Collection
The 22" Vintage Hyde cymbal bag is the standout if you like a rugged, old-school touring aesthetic. Its hard-wearing leatherette exterior gives it a really solid, premium feel, while the heavyweight cotton-canvas lining and internal separation keep cymbals properly protected.
The main compartment holds cymbals up to 22" and includes two internal canvas dividers. A separate 15" hi-hat section has its own divider, while adjustable backpack straps, reinforced carry handles, an external accessory pocket and a padded base make it clear that the bag is built for regular gigging rather than simply looking good.
The matching Vintage Hyde stick bag follows the same design language. Its main compartment provides plenty of room for sticks and mallets, with additional interior and exterior sections for accessories. Two floor-tom hooks allow it to double as a convenient stick holder while you play.
Vintage Hyde is available in Classic Black, Dark Brown and Light Brown, with matching cymbal and stick bags across the collection.
Meinl Waxed Canvas Collection
Alongside it, the Waxed Canvas collection offers a slightly different character. The finish feels classic and understated, almost like a well-worn hardware case from a rehearsal room, but with the protection and layout expected from a modern gig bag.
The 22" Waxed Canvas cymbal bag uses a durable waxed-canvas exterior and is designed to hold cymbals up to 22". Its flexible construction makes it practical for rehearsals, studio sessions and regular gigs without losing the traditional canvas look that gives the collection its personality.
The matching Waxed Canvas stick bag includes a spacious main compartment for sticks and mallets, four external pockets, additional interior storage and two floor-tom hooks. It keeps everything organised without making the design feel overcomplicated.
Waxed Canvas is available in Classic Black, Forest Green and Vintage Khaki, with matching cymbal and stick bags available across the range.
Premium Cases Built to Be Used
What we really like about these collections is that they don’t try to reinvent the wheel. The bags do exactly what you need them to do, but with enough style and personality to feel like more than a basic protective case. They feel durable, well considered and built to pick up a little character as they travel between rehearsals, sessions and gigs.
We’ve really enjoyed getting these bags out on display in the shop, and they’ve already attracted plenty of attention from customers. They combine premium materials with genuinely practical layouts, making them feel every bit as good to use as they do to look at.

I've been part of the Graham Russell Drums team since October 2025, but my connection with the shop goes back much further as a customer since 2012. I've advised drummers of all ages and experience levels, worked on a wide range of second-hand kits and spent a lot of time helping customers navigate the often overwhelming world of drum gear. Alongside over 13 years of playing experience, that hands-on exposure to a wide range of products allows me to write product features and buying guides based on real-world knowledge and practical experience rather than simply repeating manufacturer specifications.
