The Paiste Masters 21" Medium Ride is part of Paiste’s Masters series, a range developed to capture the complex, traditional character of classic hand-crafted cymbals. It is produced from CuSn20 bronze (B20 alloy) and hand hammered, a process that contributes to the rich overtone structure and musical complexity typical of the series. The cymbal sits in the medium weight category, giving it a balanced response that combines strong stick articulation with an open, musical wash.
Tonally, the 21" Medium Ride offers a bright, rich and open sound character with a fairly wide dynamic range and a clean, balanced mix. Stick definition is pronounced and “meaty”, supported by a solid wash that opens up as the cymbal is played harder. Sustain is moderate and the bell produces a full, integrated tone rather than an overly cutting bell sound, making the cymbal an excellent all-purpose ride suited to styles such as jazz, blues, funk, pop and rock, as well as studio work where a controlled but musical ride tone is required.
