The Paiste Masters 22" Dark Ride is part of Paiste’s Masters series, a line developed to capture the complex, traditional character of classic Turkish-style cymbals. It is crafted from CuSn20 bronze (B20 alloy) — approximately 80% copper and 20% tin — a material widely associated with darker, richer cymbal tones. The cymbal is hand hammered, giving each piece subtle tonal variation and contributing to the complex overtone structure that defines the Masters range.

With its medium-thin weight, the 22" Dark Ride produces a deep, dark and smoky tonal character with clear stick definition over a warm, spreading wash. The larger diameter gives the cymbal slightly greater depth and projection compared with smaller rides, while still remaining responsive and crashable. Sustain is medium-long, and the bell produces a controlled, integrated tone rather than an aggressive cutting sound. Its darker voice makes it particularly well suited to jazz, blues, funk, pop and acoustic styles, as well as studio work where a warm ride sound is required.
