The Meinl 22" Byzance Vintage Trash China is crafted in Turkey from B20 bronze and extensively hand hammered to produce a dark, dry and distinctly trashy response. Its unusual sandblasted finish softens the initial attack and gives the cymbal an earthy, naturally aged character, while precision-cut openings help it respond quickly with explosive accents.

Weighing approximately 1.6kg, this thin Trash China opens easily without producing an overpowering level of volume. Raw hammering around the centre, narrow-blade lathing towards the edge and a fully lathed underside help create a controlled wash with clear stick definition and a smooth playing feel. Its low-mid pitch, mid-dark timbre and medium-to-short sustain make it particularly effective for quick accents, stacked textures and controlled trash effects.

Despite its 22" diameter, the cymbal’s thin construction and cut-out design allow it to speak quickly and decay without excessive build-up. Its dry vintage character works particularly well across rock, gospel, funk, fusion, jazz, pop, R&B and studio applications, especially where a darker effect cymbal is required without dominating the overall mix.
