The limited-edition Meinl 14" Anika Nilles Lunar Hi-Hat Cymbals will be available from September 2026 and can be pre-ordered now from Graham Russell Drums!

Part of Meinl’s Artist Design Cymbal series, the 14" Anika Nilles Lunar Hi-Hats combine Anika’s original abstract artwork with the sound and construction of one of her favourite cymbal designs. Each pair is individually serialized, with detailed engraving across the traditional-finish surfaces transforming the cymbals into distinctive collector’s pieces as well as professional musical instruments.

Hand hammered in Turkey from B20 bronze, the Lunar Hi-Hats feature a heavy construction with an approximate combined weight of 2.625kg, alongside narrow-blade lathing. They produce a powerful, full-bodied sound with a cutting and energetic chick, giving the player strong definition and projection when keeping time. Their warm, rich character is balanced by a high-mid pitch, mid-bright timbre and medium sustain, making them well suited to progressive, rock, metal, hard rock, pop fusion and studio applications.

Anika Nilles describes the cymbals by saying: “The Lunar Hats speaks completely, their sound as rich and luminous as a full moon at its peak.”
