The limited-edition Meinl 22" Anika Nilles Lunar Ride will be available from September 2026 and can be pre-ordered now from Graham Russell Drums!

Part of Meinl’s Artist Design Cymbal series, the 22" Anika Nilles Lunar Ride combines Anika’s original abstract artwork with the sound and construction of one of her favourite cymbal designs. Each cymbal is individually serialized, with detailed engraving across the traditional-finish surface transforming the ride into a distinctive collector’s piece as well as a professional musical instrument.

Hand hammered in Turkey from B20 bronze, the Lunar Ride features an extra-heavy construction weighing approximately 3.85kg, alongside narrow-blade lathing and a large bell. Its high pitch, mid-bright timbre and long sustain produce a powerful, cutting sound that remains warm and musical. The pronounced bell and substantial weight provide strong definition and projection, making the cymbal particularly well suited to progressive, rock, metal, hard rock, pop fusion and studio applications.

Anika Nilles describes the cymbal by saying: “The Lunar Ride speaks completely, its sound as rich and luminous as a full moon at its peak.”
