The Mapex Black Panther 14" x 5.5" Venom Maple Snare Drum is now available with us at Graham Russell Drums.
Built around an 8-ply, 6.85mm maple shell, the Venom is designed to deliver a bright, articulate snare sound with plenty of attack and projection. Its 14" x 5.5" dimensions give it a quick response, while the maple construction keeps the tone balanced and musical across a wide tuning range.
The Venom combines its maple shell with Mapex SONIClear bearing edges, triple-flanged hoops and the BP Cylinder Drive strainer system, creating a responsive snare with strong rimshots, clear articulation and precise snare-wire control.
8-Ply Maple Shell
The 6.85mm maple shell gives the Venom a clear, balanced voice with strong attack and a controlled amount of body. Its relatively shallow depth helps keep the response fast and articulate.
SONIClear Bearing Edges
SONIClear bearing edges use a 45° batter-side and 35° snare-side profile, helping the heads seat consistently while supporting tuning stability, response and snare sensitivity.
Triple-Vented Chamber
The triple-vented shell design helps regulate airflow through the drum, contributing to a quick, controlled and responsive playing feel.
Triple-Flanged Hoops
Triple-flanged hoops give the Venom a lively and open feel, with crisp rimshots and cross-sticks while allowing the shell to resonate freely.
Cylinder Drive Strainer
The BP Cylinder Drive snare strainer and butt plate feature Microlock adjustment, allowing precise control over snare-wire tension and helping keep settings secure during playing.
