Information
The Mapex Black Panther 14" x 5" Razor Maple Snare Drum is now available with us at Graham Russell Drums.
Built around a 6-ply, 6mm maple shell, the Razor is designed to deliver a sharp, articulate snare sound with plenty of high-end clarity. Its shallow 14" x 5" dimensions give it a fast, immediate response, making it particularly well suited to players who want a crisp and precise snare voice.
The Razor combines its all-maple shell with Mapex SONIClear bearing edges, triple-flanged hoops and the BP Cylinder Drive strainer system, creating a lively and responsive snare with excellent articulation across a wide dynamic range.
6-Ply Maple Shell
The 6mm maple shell gives the Razor a clear, balanced tone with plenty of attack and definition. Its shallow 5" depth helps keep the response quick and focused while retaining the natural warmth and musical character of maple.
SONIClear Bearing Edges
SONIClear bearing edges use a 45° batter-side and 35° snare-side profile, helping the heads seat consistently while supporting tuning stability, response and snare sensitivity.
Triple-Vented Chamber
The triple-vented shell design helps regulate airflow through the drum, contributing to a quick and controlled playing feel.
Triple-Flanged Hoops
Triple-flanged hoops give the Razor an open and lively response, with crisp rimshots and cross-sticks while allowing the shell to resonate freely.
Cylinder Drive Strainer
The BP Cylinder Drive snare strainer and butt plate feature Microlock adjustment, allowing precise control over snare-wire tension and helping keep settings secure during playing.
