Information
The Mapex Black Panther 14" x 7" Solidus Maple Snare Drum is now available with us at Graham Russell Drums.
Built around a substantial 11-ply, 11mm maple shell, the Solidus is designed to deliver a powerful, full-bodied snare sound with plenty of depth and authority. Its 14" x 7" dimensions give the drum a deep foundation, while the thick maple shell keeps the response focused and controlled.
The Solidus combines its heavyweight maple construction with Mapex SONIClear bearing edges, Sonic Saver hoops and the BP Cylinder Drive strainer system, producing a strong, articulate snare with excellent projection and precise snare-wire adjustment.
11-Ply, 11mm Maple Shell
The thick 11-ply maple shell gives the Solidus a dense, powerful voice with plenty of body and projection. Its substantial construction helps produce a strong fundamental note with a deep, authoritative character.
SONIClear Bearing Edges
SONIClear bearing edges use a 45° batter-side and 35° snare-side profile, helping the heads seat consistently while supporting tuning stability, response and snare sensitivity.
Quad-Vented Chamber
Four air vents help regulate airflow through the shell, contributing to the drum's fast response and controlled feel.
Sonic Saver Hoops
Mapex Sonic Saver hoops provide a solid playing feel with strong rimshots and cross-sticks while retaining more openness than a heavier die-cast hoop.
Cylinder Drive Strainer
The BP Cylinder Drive snare strainer and butt plate feature Microlock adjustment, allowing precise control over snare-wire tension and helping keep settings secure during playing.
