The Yamaha DFP9500C Left Footed double pedal (model DFP9500CL) is the left-handed configuration of Yamaha’s professional 9500-series double bass drum pedal, designed so the main pedal sits on the left and the slave pedal operates from the right. It uses Yamaha’s durable double chain drive system paired with a round cam, delivering a smooth, consistent transfer of motion throughout the stroke. As with the standard DFP9500C, the pedal can also be converted to a belt drive using the supplied woven strap, allowing players to experiment with a slightly lighter and more flexible response while retaining the same pedal platform.

The pedal is built around Yamaha’s rigid sub-frame structure, positioned below the rocker shafts to reduce frame flex and maintain accurate bearing alignment during playing. A full set of mechanical adjustments allows the pedal feel to be tailored precisely, including beater angle, footboard angle, and spring tension adjustment with a self-locking mechanism to prevent movement during performance. The design also incorporates a spring roller with built-in bearings for smoother return action and Yamaha’s tear-drop shaped beater shaft lock, which holds the beater securely and prevents rotation while playing. Each pedal is supplied with Yamaha’s 2-way beater, offering both felt and hard plastic striking surfaces, and the side-adjustable bass drum hoop clamp accommodates a range of hoop thicknesses. The pedal is supplied with a Yamaha semi-hard carrying case for protection during transport.
