The Yamaha CS965 is a professional heavy-weight boom cymbal stand from Yamaha’s 900-series hardware range, designed to provide stable cymbal positioning for demanding playing environments. The stand features a double-braced tripod base for increased rigidity and a long boom arm that allows cymbals to be positioned accurately within complex kit setups. A key feature of the CS965 is Yamaha’s step-free cymbal tilter, which allows virtually unlimited angle adjustment rather than fixed gear positions, making it easier to fine-tune cymbal placement exactly where it is needed. The stand’s close-leg tripod design also allows it to be positioned closer to other stands or hardware within the kit without interfering with surrounding components.
The stand uses a three-tube telescoping design, providing a height adjustment range of approximately 91–172 cm, allowing cymbals to be positioned comfortably at a variety of heights.
