The Yamaha CS865 is a professional boom cymbal stand from Yamaha’s 800-series hardware range, designed to provide stable cymbal positioning with smooth, precise adjustment. The stand features a long boom arm and a step-free (gearless) cymbal tilter, allowing the cymbal angle to be set at virtually any position without being limited by fixed gear increments. This makes it easier to position cymbals accurately within a kit setup, whether for live performance or studio use. The stand uses a robust double-braced tripod base, giving it the strength and stability required for heavier cymbals or more aggressive playing styles.

The CS865 also incorporates Yamaha’s hinged boom tilter clamp, designed to grip the boom arm securely while reducing the risk of scratching the metal when adjusting the arm position. A memory lock system allows height settings to be repeated quickly between setups, helping maintain consistent positioning from gig to gig. The stand has a height adjustment range of approximately 94–175 cm, giving plenty of flexibility for positioning crashes, rides or auxiliary cymbals. Large non-slip rubber feet help keep the stand stable on stage or studio floors, while the standard 22.2 mm tube diameter integrates easily with Yamaha hardware and compatible clamps or accessories.
