The Pearl Primal Snare Collective 14" x 6.5" Copper Snare Drum combines the deep, vibrant character of copper with the added body and projection of a 6.5" shell. Designed as part of Pearl's Primal Snare Collective, it offers a distinctive metal-shell voice with plenty of depth, warmth and presence.

Built around a 1mm beaded copper shell, this model produces a full and expressive fundamental with a strong low-end response and plenty of tonal character. The 14" x 6.5" dimensions add extra weight and body while retaining enough sensitivity and articulation for detailed dynamic playing.

1mm Beaded Copper Shell

Copper offers a naturally deep and vibrant tonal character, combining the projection of a metal shell with a fuller and warmer response than many brighter metal alternatives.

The 1mm shell features a reinforcing bead, helping to focus the response while allowing the natural richness and complexity of the copper to remain clearly audible. The result is a substantial snare sound with plenty of body without losing definition.

Powerful 14" x 6.5" Response

The 14" x 6.5" configuration gives this Primal Copper model more depth and low-end presence than the shallower 5.5" version. Pearl describes the 6.5" model as poignant with a slappy bottom-end, giving it a strong, characterful response particularly suited to powerful backbeats.

Its deeper shell also gives the drum enough tonal weight for lower tunings while retaining the articulation needed for tighter settings, making it a versatile choice for live performance and recording.

Performance-Focused Hardware

The drum is fitted with 2.3mm ten-hole triple-flanged hoops, providing dependable tuning stability and durability while allowing the copper shell to retain an open and responsive character.

Pearl PSCL55 dual lugs are mounted centrally on the shell, while the SR-01NRS snare strainer and SR-01ERSH snare wires provide straightforward and reliable control of the snare response. A brushed finish completes the drum with a clean, understated appearance.
