The Pearl Primal Snare Collective 14" x 6.5" Brass Snare Drum combines the powerful, vibrant character of brass with the added depth and body of a 6.5" shell. Designed as part of Pearl's Primal Snare Collective, it delivers a strong fundamental tone with plenty of projection and a lively overtone character.

Built around a 1mm beaded brass shell, this model offers a rich and sonically flexible response with plenty of midrange presence. The deeper 6.5" shell gives the drum additional body and weight while retaining the articulate attack and sensitivity expected from a versatile 14" brass snare.

1mm Beaded Brass Shell

The 1mm brass shell produces a centred, vibrant tone with the lively overtones and projection associated with brass. A reinforcing bead helps focus the shell response while allowing its natural resonance and tonal colour to remain prominent.

Compared with the shallower 5.5" version, the additional shell depth gives the 14" x 6.5" model greater body and low-mid presence, making it particularly effective when a substantial snare sound is required without sacrificing clarity.

Versatile 14" x 6.5" Response

Pearl describes the 14" x 6.5" Primal Brass as having a pure, sonically malleable character. This makes it particularly adaptable across different tunings, allowing the drum to move from a lower, fuller backbeat to a tighter and more articulate response while retaining the distinctive character of the brass shell.

The drum is fitted with 2.3mm ten-hole triple-flanged hoops, providing dependable tuning stability and durability while allowing the shell to retain an open and responsive sound.

Pearl PSCL55 dual lugs are mounted centrally on the shell, while the SR-01NRS snare strainer and SR-01ERSH snare wires provide straightforward and reliable control of the snare response. A Brushed Natural Brass finish completes the drum with a clean appearance that showcases the character of the brass shell.
