The TAMA Starclassic Performer Blacked Out Black 5pc Drum Kit is now available with us at Graham Russell Drums!
The TAMA Starclassic Performer Blacked Out Black Edition is a limited-edition 5-piece shell pack that takes the proven Starclassic Performer Maple/Birch platform and gives it an uncompromising all-black finish.
Finished in Flat Black, the shells, lugs, hoops and shell hardware are all presented in matte black, while the inside of each shell is also painted black for a completely unified appearance. Clear tom heads allow the dark shell interiors to remain visible from the playing position, while the black fibre-laminated front bass drum head completes the blackout aesthetic. TAMA describes this as the defining visual feature of the limited-edition kit.
Underneath the finish is the familiar Starclassic Performer Maple/Birch hybrid shell construction. The toms and floor toms use 6mm shells made from 4 plies of Birch with 2 inner plies of Maple, while the bass drum uses a slightly thicker 7mm construction with 5 plies of Birch and 2 inner plies of Maple. This combination is designed to provide the clarity and attack of Birch alongside the warmth and body of Maple.
The kit is configured around a versatile 22" x 16" bass drum, with 10" x 8" and 12" x 9" rack toms alongside 14" x 12" and 16" x 14" floor toms. The bass drum is supplied without a tom holder base for a clean, uncluttered appearance, with two MC69 single tom attachments included for mounting the rack toms from suitable cymbal stands or hardware.
Starclassic Performer hardware features such as die-cast hoops and TAMA's Star-Cast mounting system help provide the precise, solid feel associated with the Starclassic range, while the all-black treatment gives this limited model a much more distinctive visual identity than the standard Performer finishes.
