The Tama Anika Nilles 14"x6.5" Signature Snare Drum is now available with us at Graham Russell Drums!

Developed in collaboration with renowned drummer Anika Nilles, this signature snare has been designed around her preference for exceptional projection, clarity and articulation. At its heart is a 1.2mm seamless aluminium shell, combining the crisp attack associated with aluminium with a warm, resonant character and plenty of low-end body from the deeper 6.5" shell depth.

Four grooves are formed into the centre of the shell, while an extended bent edge provides additional rigidity around the outer areas. Together, these design features help retain the natural warmth of aluminium while creating a more focused, defined response with excellent projection.

The drum is fitted with Tama's 2.3mm Sound Arc Hoops in an 8-hole configuration. Selected to complement Anika's preference for a sharp and immediate attack, these hoops help control unwanted overtones while providing a solid, powerful response and excellent definition across both strong backbeats and more detailed playing.

A particularly useful feature is Tama's internal Mod-Tone muffling system. The muffler can be switched on or off instantly with a single touch, allowing the character of the drum to be changed quickly even during a performance. Its adjustment dial also allows the amount of pressure and contact area against the head to be varied, providing a wide range of dampening possibilities without requiring an external muffling accessory.

20-strand Starclassic Hi-Carbon Steel snare wires provide a crisp and articulate response. On this model, the wires are secured using cord rather than the strap attachment found on many standard models, further supporting the projection and clarity Anika looks for from her snare sound.

Tama's Original Superstar-style 6371N lugs complement the distinctive construction, while the MLS50A Linear Drive strainer and MLS50B butt plate provide smooth and precise snare wire control.

Adding a particularly personal element, every Anika Nilles Signature Snare Drum features a special sticker fitted inside the shell that has been individually signed by Anika herself. Each sticker is signed by hand, making every drum an individual example of her signature model.
