The Mapex Black Panther 14" x 5.5" Metallion Brass Snare Drum is now available with us at Graham Russell Drums.
Built around a 1.2mm seamed brass shell, the Metallion delivers the warmth and body associated with brass while retaining plenty of attack and sensitivity. Its 14" x 5.5" dimensions give it a quick, articulate response, with a focused centre and enough bite to cut clearly through a mix.
As part of the Black Panther range, the Metallion combines its brass shell with Mapex's SONIClear bearing edges, Sonic Saver hoops and Cylinder Drive snare mechanism, creating a responsive and versatile brass snare with excellent tuning control.
1.2mm Seamed Brass Shell
The 1.2mm seamed brass shell produces a warm, centred and controlled brass tone, balancing body and projection with a crisp, sensitive response.
SONIClear Bearing Edges
Rolled SONIClear bearing edges use a 45° batter-side and 35° snare-side profile, helping the heads seat consistently while supporting response, tuning stability and snare sensitivity.
Quad-Vented Chamber
Four air vents allow the shell to breathe efficiently, contributing to the Metallion's quick response and controlled feel.
Sonic Saver Hoops
Mapex Sonic Saver hoops provide a solid playing feel with strong rimshots and cross-sticks, while retaining more openness than a heavier die-cast hoop.
Cylinder Drive Strainer
The BP Cylinder Drive strainer and butt plate feature Microlock adjustment, allowing precise and secure control over snare-wire tension.
