The Mapex Black Panther 14" x 6" Cyrus Steel Snare Drum is now available with us at Graham Russell Drums.
Built around a 1.0mm seamed steel shell, the Cyrus delivers a powerful, focused snare sound with plenty of attack and projection. Its 14" x 6" dimensions provide a strong balance of body and responsiveness, giving the drum a deep, dry fundamental with the crisp character expected from steel.
The Cyrus combines its polished steel shell with rolled Mapex SONIClear bearing edges, Sonic Saver hoops and the BP Cylinder Drive strainer system, creating a controlled and articulate snare with a solid playing feel and precise snare-wire adjustment.
1.0mm Seamed Steel Shell
The 1.0mm steel shell gives the Cyrus a bright, defined attack with strong projection and a focused fundamental. Its 6" depth adds body and weight while retaining the crisp response associated with steel snares.
Rolled SONIClear Bearing Edges
Rolled SONIClear bearing edges use a 45° batter-side and 35° snare-side profile, helping the heads seat consistently while supporting tuning stability, response and snare sensitivity.
Quad-Vented Chamber
Four air vents help regulate airflow through the shell, contributing to the Cyrus' quick response and controlled playing feel.
Sonic Saver Hoops
Mapex Sonic Saver hoops provide a solid playing feel with strong rimshots and cross-sticks while allowing the drum to retain an open and responsive character.
Cylinder Drive Strainer
The BP Cylinder Drive snare strainer and butt plate feature Microlock adjustment, allowing precise control over snare-wire tension and helping keep settings secure during playing.
