This Keough Drums Plymatic 14" x 5.5" Zebrawood Birch Snare Drum, Satin Lacquer is now available at Graham Russell Drums.

Handmade in England, the Plymatic is Keough Drum Co.’s individual interpretation of the traditional ply-shell snare drum. This Type I model features a birch ply shell complemented by a distinctive Zebrawood outer veneer and Satin Lacquer finish. It is individually marked as Serial Number 026.

The birch construction provides a clear, focused response with plenty of attack, while the 5.5" depth gives the drum a quick and articulate feel. The Zebrawood exterior brings its own natural grain and visual character, enhanced by the understated satin finish.

Keough’s Classic 3-Pin Strainer and matching butt provide independent adjustment at both ends, allowing the snare wires to be centred accurately and their tension adjusted precisely. Keough Dynamic 20-strand chrome-plated steel snare wires produce a crisp response, while the 2.3mm triple-flanged hoops retain an open and responsive feel.

The drum is fitted with a Remo Ambassador batter head and Hazy Snare Side resonant head, creating a familiar and dependable starting point for tuning. Every Plymatic shell is individually made, pressed and finished in Keough’s English workshop, with careful attention paid to timber selection, ply orientation and construction.
