This Keough Drums Plymatic 14" x 5.5" Birch Beech Snare with Makore & Fumed Sapele Vertical Inlay is now available at Graham Russell Drums.

Handmade in England, this Type I Plymatic is built around a birch and beech ply shell, complemented by a Birdseye Maple outer veneer. The vertical inlay combines Makore with Fumed Sapele Pommele, creating a distinctive decorative feature running down the depth of the shell. This individual drum is marked as Serial Number 024.

The mixed birch and beech construction gives the drum a clear, focused response with a solid body and defined attack. Its 5.5" depth keeps the response quick and articulate, while the 2.3mm triple-flanged hoops retain an open and responsive feel.

Keough’s Classic 3-Pin Strainer and matching butt provide independent adjustment at both ends, allowing the snare wires to be accurately centred and precisely tensioned. Keough Dynamic 20-strand chrome-plated steel snare wires provide a crisp response across the drumhead.

The drum is fitted with a Remo Ambassador batter head and Remo Hazy Snare Side resonant head. Like every Plymatic shell, it has been individually made, pressed and finished in Keough’s English workshop, with careful attention paid to timber selection, ply orientation and construction.
