The Hive “The Queen” is a handcrafted 14" x 5.5" brass snare drum built around a substantial 3mm brass shell, designed to deliver powerful projection with a rich, cutting tone and strong midrange presence. Brass shells are known for their lively response and musical overtones, offering excellent sensitivity for ghost notes while still delivering the volume and authority required for heavier playing styles. The shell features flush solid rivets and is brushed and finished with a matt clear powder coat, preserving the natural character of the metal while providing protection and durability.

The drum is fitted with high-quality hardware chosen for reliability and performance. A Trick throw-off provides smooth and precise snare engagement, while Hive Drums brass offset lugs give the drum its distinctive appearance and balanced tension distribution across the shell. A brass Hive badge complements the shell finish, and the lugs are mounted with black backing plates for contrast and additional protection of the shell surface. The drum is fitted with chrome triple-flanged hoops, which provide a responsive playing feel and open tonal character. It comes fitted with Evans drum heads, offering dependable tuning stability and consistent performance.
