The Sonor AQX 16” Jungle Drum Kit is an ultra-compact shell set designed for players who need a smaller acoustic drum kit that is easy to transport, easy to position and practical in tighter spaces. With a 16” bass drum, 10” rack tom, 13” floor tom and 13” snare drum, the AQX Jungle is ideal for small stages, teaching rooms, home practice, acoustic gigs and rehearsal spaces where a full-size kit may be too large.

Unlike the AQX Stage and Studio packages, the Jungle is supplied as a shell set rather than a complete kit with cymbals and hardware. This makes it particularly useful for drummers who already have stands, cymbals and pedals, or for players looking to create a compact second kit for rehearsals, lessons or smaller performances. Sonor includes the CTH 4000 cymbal/tom holder, allowing the rack tom and a cymbal to be mounted from the bass drum.

The 16” x 15” bass drum is the defining feature of the Jungle configuration. It gives the kit a much smaller footprint than a traditional 20” or 22” bass drum setup, while still offering a genuine acoustic bass drum feel. The smaller drum sizes provide a quick response and a focused sound, making the kit easy to control in lower-volume settings.

The shells are made from 9-ply, 7.2mm poplar. Poplar is a popular shell material for compact and entry-level acoustic kits because it offers a warm tone with more mid-to-low frequency response and a softer attack than harder woods such as maple, birch or beech. This helps the AQX Jungle sound controlled and musical rather than overly sharp in smaller rooms.

Sonor’s AQ cast lugs include the TuneSafe system, designed to help prevent detuning during regular playing. The AQX Jungle also features 45° bearing edges, SONOR Prism Clamp tom mounting and natural wood bass drum hoops, giving the kit a smart compact appearance with practical Sonor design details throughout.
