Information
This Meinl HCS 20" Practice Ride Cymbal is now available with us at Graham Russell Drums.
The Meinl HCS 20" Practice Ride Cymbal is designed to deliver a realistic ride feel at significantly reduced volume, making it ideal for controlled practice environments. Constructed from MS63 brass alloy and featuring a precision-drilled hole pattern, the cymbal reduces air resistance and limits resonance, resulting in a low-volume response with minimal wash. The thin weight profile allows for a clear, defined stick response, producing a mid-bright timbre with a high-mid pitch, dry character and short sustain, closely replicating the articulation of a traditional ride cymbal.
In practical use, this ride offers excellent stick definition across the bow, with a controlled and focused response that allows for detailed pattern work and dynamic control. The bell remains articulate but subdued, while the overall decay is short and manageable, preventing excessive build-up of sound. Ideal for home practice, rehearsal spaces, and teaching environments, it provides a consistent and responsive playing surface, allowing drummers to develop timing, consistency, and ride patterns without the volume of a full acoustic cymbal.
