Information
This Meinl HCS 18" Practice Crash Cymbal - P-HCS18C is now available with us at Graham Russell Drums.
The Meinl HCS 18" Practice Crash Cymbal is designed to offer a full-size crash feel at significantly reduced volume, making it ideal for low-volume practice environments. Constructed from MS63 brass alloy and featuring a precision-drilled hole pattern, the cymbal reduces air resistance and limits resonance, resulting in a controlled, near-silent response. The thin weight profile allows for a fast, open attack, producing a mid-bright timbre with a high-mid pitch and short sustain, closely mirroring the response of a traditional crash cymbal.
In practical use, the larger 18” size provides a slightly broader spread and fuller response compared to smaller practice crashes, while still maintaining a dry, controlled decay. It responds easily under the stick with a soft, articulate attack, making it ideal for developing crash technique, dynamics and consistency without excessive volume. Perfect for home practice, teaching environments and rehearsal spaces, it delivers a realistic playing experience while keeping volume to a minimum.
