Remo is famously responsible for developing the first successful mylar drumhead in the late 1950's. The development of this new drum head was incredibly well received by drummers around the globe as it was heat resistant which meant a drum could hold it's tuning no matter what the weather conditions. These drum heads became known as Remo Weather King drum heads and since that time Remo has developed many groundbreaking ranges of drum heads, all characteristically different in sound. We certainly recommend that drummers should experiment with many different combinations of Remo drum heads on their kits in order to discover their sound.
