The Yamaha FP8500C is a professional single bass drum pedal built around Yamaha’s proven 8500-series frame design and a durable double chain drive system. The pedal uses a round cam, providing a smooth and consistent response throughout the stroke with an even transfer of motion from footboard to beater. Its design incorporates Yamaha’s rigid sub-frame structure positioned below the rocker shaft, helping reduce frame flex and maintain accurate bearing alignment during playing. This construction contributes to a stable feel underfoot and smooth rotational movement through the pedal’s action.

The pedal includes a range of straightforward mechanical adjustments, allowing players to tailor the feel to their preference. Beater angle, footboard angle, and spring tension can all be adjusted, with the spring tension featuring a self-locking mechanism to prevent movement during performance. The pedal also incorporates a spring roller with built-in bearings to improve the smoothness of the return action.
