YAMAHA DTX402K ELECTRONIC DRUM KIT

The Yamaha DTX402K is a compact, beginner‑friendly electronic drum kit designed to build timing, coordination and technique. It combines durable pads with 10 editable kits, 287 drum/perc voices, giving new drummers inspiring sounds with room to grow. 

The DTX402 series works with Yamaha’s free DTX402 Touch app for iOS and Android. The app adds simple kit editing plus 10 Training Modes and a game‑style Challenge Mode that awards a Yamaha certificate when you complete all stages. A USB connection to your phone/tablet is required. 

Playability & pads

The rack is steel, compact, lightweight and foldable, and all pad heights/angles are adjustable for correct posture. The DTX402K ships with quiet rubber pads and the KU100 silent kick unit for low‑noise practice in flats. Cymbal choke is supported; snare rimshot/cross‑stick requires a 3‑zone snare (TP70S) as supplied with DTX452K, not the single‑zone snare in the DTX402K. 

Note: The DTX402K does not include a mechanical bass‑drum pedal. If you prefer a beater‑on‑pad feel, choose the DTX432K/DTX452K (KP65 kick pad + pedal) or upgrade the 402K with a KP65 and a Yamaha pedal. 

Sounds, coaching & apps

The DTX402 module delivers 10 preset kits (fully editable) and 10 built‑in training functions including Pad Gate, Rhythm Gate, Groove Check and Fast Blast, plus scoring so you can track progress. With Rec’n’Share (iOS/Android) you can record synced audio/video and share performances.

Recording & connectivity

Connect the module’s USB TO HOST port to a computer or supported smart device to send and receive digital audio and MIDI—record straight to a DAW or the Rec’n’Share app. I/O also includes AUX IN for play‑along and PHONES/OUTPUT for headphones or an amp.
