The Yamaha DFP9500C is a professional double bass drum pedal built around Yamaha’s 9500-series frame architecture and a traditional double chain drive system. This design provides a smooth, consistent transfer of motion from footboard to beater while maintaining the familiar feel many players prefer from chain-driven pedals. The pedal can also be converted to a belt drive using the supplied woven nylon strap, allowing players to experiment with a slightly lighter and more flexible response without changing pedals. The frame incorporates Yamaha’s rigid sub-frame structure, positioned beneath the rocker shafts to reduce flex and maintain bearing alignment, helping the pedal operate smoothly even during fast or powerful playing.

The DFP9500C offers straightforward mechanical adjustment so the feel can be tailored easily. Beater angle, footboard angle, and spring tension can all be adjusted independently, allowing players to fine-tune pedal response without affecting other settings. Yamaha’s spring roller with built-in bearings helps ensure smooth and even return action, while the tear-drop shaped beater shaft lock secures the beater in place and prevents rotation during playing. Each pedal is fitted with Yamaha’s 2-way beater, offering felt and hard plastic striking surfaces, and the side-adjustable bass drum hoop clamp allows secure attachment to a wide range of hoop thicknesses. The pedal is supplied with a Yamaha semi-hard carrying case, keeping the pedals, beaters and linkage protected during transport.
