The Freestyle stick type is a versatile new concept by Vic Firth. With several new sticks now featuring these dimensions, you can find a pair that suit your music and playing style. The Freestyle design takes its inspiration from freestyle longboarding, where riders move up and down the board without losing control, using every inch of their deck. This allows the boarders to pull off tricks and manoeuvres not possible on regular sized skateboards.

Much like longboarding, the American Concept Freestyle 5A allows much more space for your hands to manoeuvre, giving you a vast array of responses and feel from the same pair of sticks. So you can easily switch between a more front-heavy or back-heavy feel depending on the music and dynamic level you want to play. The result – more versatility and technique than you could achieve with a regular drumstick.
