The Tama Starclassic Walnut Birch Drum Kit, Satin Sapphire Fade is now available with us at Graham Russell Drums!

The Tama Starclassic Walnut Birch series combines two highly regarded tonewoods to create a hybrid shell that delivers both warmth and definition. The shells are constructed using European birch outer plies with inner plies of American black walnut, giving the kit a balanced tonal character. Birch contributes a focused attack and clear projection, while walnut adds low-to-mid frequency warmth and body, resulting in a sound that is punchy, controlled and musical across a wide range of styles. The rack toms and floor tom feature a 6mm shell made from 4 plies of birch with 2 inner plies of walnut, while the bass drum uses a thicker 8mm shell made from 5 plies of birch with 2 inner plies of walnut for additional depth and power.

Starclassic kits are also known for their high-quality hardware and thoughtful design features. The rack toms are fitted with Tama’s Star-Cast mounting system, designed to maximise shell resonance while providing stable mounting. Die-cast hoops are used on the toms to provide improved tuning stability and a more focused attack, while Quick-Lock tom brackets allow for fast setup and consistent positioning. The floor tom is supplied with floor tom legs, and the bass drum features sturdy spur brackets and claw hooks designed to keep the drum secure during playing. Finished in Satin Sapphire Fade, the kit combines premium construction with a striking visual appearance.
