The Sonor Vintage Series 14" x 6.5" in Teak Semi Gloss is a warm, resonant beech snare drum inspired by Sonor's classic Teardrop drums of the 1950s and 60s. Its 9-ply German beech shell with fully rounded bearing edges is what gives it that fat, warm "old Sonor" voice with a deep low end, ideal for jazz, soul and studio work where you want body and character rather than sharp attack. The deeper 6.5" shell adds volume and weight, while 2.3mm Superprofil hoops, teardrop lugs, TuneSafe and the Super 50 strainer keep it authentically vintage but easy to live with. The natural Teak semi gloss veneer is understated and classic. In our experience a Vintage Series beech snare is about as characterful as production snare drums get.
