Sonor Phonic Re-Issue 14" x 6.5" Beech Snare Drum, Mahogany
This Sonor Phonic Re-Issue 14" x 6.5" Beech Snare Drum, Mahogany is now available with us at Graham Russell Drums!
In the early 1980s the wooden Phonic snares became some of the most recognisable drums Sonor ever made, and this is Sonor's faithful re-issue of the D 516. It is built in Germany on a 9-ply beech shell with 45 degree bearing edges and chrome hardware, so you get that deep, woody Phonic voice with the consistency of a modern drum. The extra depth gives it real body and a fat backbeat, while the beech keeps everything articulate rather than woolly. In our experience it is one of those snares that sits in almost any mix straight away, from studio work to a loud stage, and the Mahogany veneer looks every bit as classic as it sounds.
