The Sonor Momentum Birch 14" x 6.5" snare drum is a model from Sonor’s Momentum series, built around a 9-ply, 6mm birch shell with 45° bearing edges. Sonor uses its CLTF (Cross Laminated Tension Free) shell manufacturing method together with OSM (Optimum Shell Measurement), and the drum is fitted with 2.3mm Power Hoops and Sonor double lugs with 40mm hole spacing. In practical terms, this gives the drum a focused, articulate birch response with strong projection, clear attack and a controlled tuning range that suits a wide variety of playing styles.

The California Burl finish is a semi-gloss veneer that Sonor uses exclusively with the Momentum series, using a sustainably manufactured European veneer protected by two coats of semi-gloss lacquer. The hardware is finished in chrome, and uses uses Sonor’s Dual Glide snare strainer system. Both the strainer and butt sides feature a fast-release snare wire detach function, with a fine-tune adjustment knob on both sides, which is a particularly useful detail for drummers who want precise snare response and easier wire changes. It is also fitted with the series-specific Momentum badge with golden mallets.
