Information

The Mapex Armory Special Edition 22" 6 Piece Drum Kit in Desert Dusk combines a punchy hybrid shell construction with a distinctive olive wood veneer finish. Part of the 2026 Special Edition offering, Desert Dusk blends golden amber into dusky purple, allowing the natural grain to show through the lacquer.

The 8-ply, 7.55mm birch/maple/birch shells balance focused attack with warmth and body. Mapex’s SONIClear™ bearing edges improve drumhead contact for easier tuning and a strong fundamental tone, while the SONIClear™ rack tom suspension and Sonic Pedestal floor tom feet help preserve resonance.

This two-up, two-down configuration provides four tom voices around a 22" x 18" bass drum, with the supplied TH676 Double Tom Holder allowing both rack toms to mount directly above the bass drum. Memory locks help recreate your preferred positioning when setting up.

Completing the package is a 14" x 5.5" Tomahawk steel snare, adding a bright attack and cutting rimshot alongside the warmer hybrid shells.

For drummers building a kit for rehearsals, recording and regular gigs, this Armory shell pack combines practical mounting features with a striking finish. Contact Graham Russell Drums for advice on matching hardware and cymbals to complete your setup.
