Handcrafted in Istanbul from traditional B20 bronze alloy, these hi-hats are part of the highly regarded 30th Anniversary series, produced to celebrate Istanbul Agop’s heritage in traditional Turkish cymbal making. Each cymbal begins with a uniquely hand-shaped bell, followed by deep, extensive hand hammering and finished with a proprietary pre-aging process, resulting in a mature, vintage-inspired tonal character straight out of the box. The completely traditional, unpolished finish and papery thin weight contribute to a highly responsive and complex instrument, while the oversized 16" diameter delivers increased low-end presence and a broader tonal spread.

These hi-hats produce a dark, low-pitched voice with a papery thin response, very quick decay and a distinctly controlled, trashy wash. Despite the larger diameter, the articulation remains soft and integrated, sitting within the overall texture rather than projecting above it. The chick is subtle and understated, favouring musical blend over sharp definition. When opened, they deliver a wide, complex spread with tightly controlled sustain, making them particularly suited to jazz, acoustic and studio environments where nuance, texture and dynamic control are essential.
