The OM series was developed directly with drummer Cindy Blackman, best known for a decade behind the kit with Lenny Kravitz alongside her own accomplished jazz career. She worked closely with Istanbul Agop's owners, Arman and Sarkis Tomurcuk, to shape a set of cymbals built around the most sought-after classic jazz sounds, while still holding up in modern rock and pop settings. Every OM cymbal is individually cast from B20 bronze and hand-worked, finished with the series' distinctive aged patina, which gives it as much character to look at as to play.

This 22 inch ride is the largest piece in the range and sits at its centre: a paper-thin cast construction with intense hand hammering and fine lathing produces a clear, slightly metallic stick sound thanks to the unique black finishing, sitting on a warm cushion of wash rather than an aggressive attack. Push it and it opens into a genuinely dry, trashy crash, giving you real crash-ride flexibility from one cymbal. It's an incredibly articulate ride, capable of holding up under fast, detailed playing while staying warm and musical underneath, which is exactly the balance a jazz-rooted signature model needs to deliver.
