The Hive “The Worker” is a handcrafted 14" x 5.5" aluminium snare drum built around a robust 3mm aluminium shell, designed to deliver a crisp, articulate attack with excellent projection and controlled overtones. Aluminium shells are known for their balanced tonal character, offering clarity and sensitivity across a wide dynamic range while maintaining a focused response. This version features a gloss black powder coat finish, giving the drum a striking, modern appearance while protecting the shell surface from wear. The shell construction uses solid rivets, reinforcing the drum’s industrial aesthetic and contributing to its durable build.

The drum is fitted with high-quality hardware chosen for reliability and performance. A Trick throw-off provides smooth and precise snare engagement, while Hive Drums brass offset lugs add a distinctive boutique aesthetic and even tension distribution across the shell. The lugs are mounted using red backing plates / gaskets, creating a bold visual contrast against the black shell while also helping protect the finish. A Hive Drums badge sits at the centre of the shell, and the drum is fitted with chrome triple-flanged hoops which offer an open, responsive feel with a balanced tonal response. It comes fitted with Evans drum heads, known for their reliable tuning stability and consistent performance.
