This Gretsch 302 16" 8-Lug Drum Hoop is now available with us at Graham Russell Drums.

The Gretsch 302 Hoop offers a distinctive alternative to both traditional triple-flanged hoops and heavier die-cast designs, delivering a balance of resonance, focus and durability that has become synonymous with modern Gretsch drums. Constructed from 3mm steel and based on the thicker hoop designs used by Gretsch throughout the 1950s, the 302 hoop provides a more substantial feel whilst preserving much of the drum's natural character.

Its double-flanged construction gives drummers increased attack, improved rimshot response and greater tuning stability compared to a standard 2.3mm hoop, whilst avoiding the more compressed feel often associated with die-cast alternatives. This combination makes the 302 hoop particularly popular on toms and snare drums where maintaining shell resonance is important, offering a focused yet open sound with excellent projection and consistency.
