Starting Cymbal production in 1952, Roland Meinl began to grow his small, family business with ambitions of becoming one of the leading Cymbal companies. Undoubtedly what attributed to Meinl's success was the production of their infamous ‘Byzance’ series in 2001. Known for their dry and dark tones, this series of cymbals projected Meinl’s brand to the top of the industry. Byzance cymbals consist of such a multitude of variations, it provides drummers with many options to discover their perfect cymbal sound.
