The Yamaha SS950 Snare Drum Stand is now available with us at Graham Russell Drums!

The Yamaha SS950 is a professional heavy-weight snare drum stand designed to provide maximum stability and precise positioning for demanding playing environments. It features a double-braced tripod leg design, creating a solid and rigid base that keeps the drum firmly supported even during powerful playing. The stand uses Yamaha’s centred ball-and-socket tilter, positioned directly above the vertical support tube so the energy of each stroke is transferred straight into the stand’s central column. This design allows extremely flexible drum positioning with almost limitless angle adjustment while maintaining strong structural support.

The snare basket uses a three-arm design with rubber-covered contact points to hold the drum securely while allowing the shell to resonate naturally. A snare basket adjustment knob lets players tighten the basket arms to suit different drum diameters, typically accommodating 12"–14" snare drums. The stand offers a height adjustment range of approximately 45–61cm, making it suitable for a variety of seated playing positions. For additional stability, the SS950 features large rubber feet with retractable spikes, helping prevent movement on both smooth and carpeted stage surfaces. The basket can also be quickly detached from the main tube by loosening a single wing nut, making storage and snare changes faster and more convenient.
