The Yamaha EAD20 is the next generation of Yamaha’s Electronic Acoustic Drum system, designed to capture, monitor, process and record a complete acoustic drum kit from a simple bass drum-mounted sensor setup.

The newly developed sensor unit combines stereo microphones with an integrated bass drum trigger, allowing the natural acoustic kit sound to be captured while also supporting electronic sounds, effects and additional triggers. The EAD20 features Yamaha’s AWM2 sound engine with 2,203 built-in Voices and 256-note polyphony, alongside a wide range of reverb, EQ, compression and other processing options.

For recording and content creation, the EAD20 offers 8-input / 10-output, 24-bit USB audio at 44.1kHz, making it suitable for multitrack recording, DAW integration, streaming and online content. It also supports Yamaha’s Rec’n’Share and EAD Touch apps for recording, video creation and graphical control of Scenes, effects and trigger settings.

Built-in sampling, looping and recording functions expand the creative possibilities further, while automatic microphone gain, trigger and crosstalk setup help make configuration quick and straightforward.
