The Yamaha CS665A is a lightweight boom cymbal stand from Yamaha’s dependable 600-series hardware range, designed to offer stable cymbal positioning in a compact and portable format. The stand features a double-braced tripod base, providing solid support while keeping overall weight manageable for transport and regular setup. Its boom arm can be used in a hide-away configuration, allowing it to slide into the upper tube of the stand so it can also function as a straight cymbal stand when required. This flexibility makes it well suited to both compact drum setups and gigging situations where efficient packing and quick setup are important.
The stand uses Yamaha’s offset cymbal tilter, which allows the cymbal to be positioned accurately while keeping the tilter assembly aligned with the stand tubing. The tilter can also fold back alongside the boom arm to help prevent damage during transport. Two telescoping height adjustments allow the stand to be positioned across a wide range of setups, with a height adjustment range of approximately 80–163 cm. The boom arm can be extended and adjusted using standard wing-bolt clamps, while the rubber feet on the tripod base help keep the stand stable on stage or rehearsal room floors.
