Using a woven nylon strap in place of a chain, the pedal delivers a quieter and more flexible feel with a consistent, linear response provided by its round cam design. The FP8500B is built around Yamaha’s rigid sub-frame structure, positioned beneath the rocker shaft to increase overall stability and maintain smooth pedal movement during playing.
The pedal layout prioritises practical adjustment and dependable mechanics. Beater angle and footboard angle can be adjusted together, while spring tension is easily set using Yamaha’s self-locking adjustment system. The spring roller with built-in bearings improves the smoothness of the return action, and the pedal uses a wire frame design without a bottom plate, keeping overall weight low and allowing the pedal to fold compactly for transport.
