Information
The Mapex MPX 10" x 5.5" Maple/Poplar Hybrid Snare Drum in Black is now available with us at Graham Russell Drums.
Built around a 7.2mm maple/poplar hybrid shell, this compact MPX snare delivers a precise and controlled attack with plenty of definition. Its 10" diameter gives it a tight, focused voice that works particularly well as an auxiliary snare or as a contrasting sound within a larger setup.
The hybrid shell is paired with Mapex SONIClear bearing edges, 1.5mm triple-flanged hoops, low-mass W-Lugs and an Armory Series throw-off, creating a responsive and practical snare with a distinctive Transparent Midnight Black hardware finish.
Maple/Poplar Hybrid Shell
The 7.2mm maple/poplar hybrid shell is designed to produce a precise and controlled attack while retaining enough body to keep the drum sounding full despite its compact 10" diameter.
SONIClear Bearing Edges
Mapex SONIClear bearing edges help the heads seat consistently, supporting stable tuning and an even response across the drum.
Armory Series Throw-Off
The Armory Series throw-off is designed for quick, smooth and comfortable operation, making snare-wire engagement straightforward during setup and playing.
Low-Mass W-Lugs
The compact W-Lugs use a smaller footprint to reduce overall hardware mass, helping the shell retain a lively and responsive character.
Triple-Flanged Hoops
The 1.5mm triple-flanged hoops provide a lively playing feel with clear rimshots while allowing the shell to resonate freely.
