The Sabian cymbal company was officially founded in 1981. In it’s first year, Sabian produced 45,000 Cymbals, beginning with the AA and HH series which are still being produced to this day. A decade later and the Sabian factory had to upsize by 5,000 sq.ft. to meet high demands from drummers around the world. Today Sabian’s catalogue features some of the most beloved series of cymbals out there, including AAX, HHX, Artisan and Legacy.
The first of Sabian’s Artist Cymbals was the Jack Dejohnette ride/Hi-Hats in 1989. Their roster of artists is now ever growing due to their immense popularity and drummers such as Dave Weckl and JoJo Mayer have their own signature range of Sabian Cymbals.
