Founded by Roland Meinl in 1951, Meinl has grown from a small family business in Germany into one of the world's most respected cymbal manufacturers. For more than 70 years, the company has combined traditional craftsmanship with continuous innovation, producing cymbals that cater for every style of music and every level of drummer.
One of Meinl's defining moments came with the introduction of the Byzance Series in 2001. Handcrafted in Turkey from B20 bronze, the Byzance range quickly earned a reputation for its rich, complex and highly musical sound. Today, the series encompasses an extensive collection of models, from the dark and earthy Byzance Traditional and Vintage ranges to the bright projection of Brilliant finishes and the modern character of the Extra Dry and Dual Series. Alongside Byzance, Meinl also offers the Pure Alloy, Classics Custom, HCS and numerous other ranges, making it one of the most comprehensive cymbal catalogues available.
