Released as a Limited Edition model, this snare follows the same core specification as Mike Portnoy’s current signature Bubinga snare, delivering a full-bodied, powerful voice with controlled sustain. The 8mm, 9-ply Bubinga shell provides a dark, punchy fundamental with excellent projection, while die-cast hoops help keep the sound focused and the tuning stable. A key feature is Tama’s 3-Way Tension Adjustable Strainer, allowing instant switching between tight, loose, and off settings for quick changes in snare response and feel.
