Brady Jarrah Ply 22" Drum Kit in Blackheart Satin at Graham Russell Drums
Some kits have a presence that you can feel before you even sit down behind them. This Brady Jarrah Ply 22" Drum Kit in Blackheart Satin is one of those.
A bit of Brady history
Brady is one of the most respected names in modern boutique drum building, rooted in Western Australia and closely associated with builder Chris Brady. The brand became known worldwide for bringing Australian hardwoods into serious drum making, and for building drums that felt purposeful, powerful, and musical. Today, Brady kits are increasingly sought-after because they are no longer in production, and they represent a very specific era of high-end, small-run craftsmanship.
Why Jarrah matters
Jarrah sits right in the heart of what makes Brady special. It is a dense Australian hardwood with a distinctive voice, and in a ply build it delivers a focused, authoritative sound with real weight behind each note.
The kit configuration
This is a full, gig-ready setup with three rack toms, two floors, and a 22" bass drum:
- 8" x 7" rack tom
-
10" x 8" rack tom
-
12" x 9" rack tom
-
14" x 11" floor tom
-
16" x 13" floor tom
-
22" x 18" bass drum
Brady Jarrah Ply Snare Drum 14" x 5.5"
Alongside the kit, we also have the matching Brady Jarrah Ply 14" x 5.5" snare drum.
Brady snares are highly sought-after because production effectively ended in November 2015, meaning everything you see now is limited to what already exists on the used market. Add to that the fact Brady built its reputation on handcrafted drums using dense Australian hardwoods like Jarrah, with construction methods and a sound that stand apart from the usual maple and birch world. That combination of limited supply, boutique build, and a genuinely distinctive tone is why good Brady snares do not hang around for long when they arrive in the shop...

How we’ve set it up in the showroom
Because it’s on the glass platform, we wanted the setup to be visually clean but also completely functional. It is pictured with the following gear in-store.
Cymbals and percussion
Hardware
Heads
-
Emperor Coated top toms
-
Ambassador Coated snare batter
-
Powerstroke P4 Coated bass drum batter
-
Ambassador Clear resonant heads
This head choice keeps the kit open enough to speak, but controlled enough that you can hear the tone of these beautiful shells properly, without the setup doing anything to hide what the kit really sounds like.
Brady at Graham Russell Drums
Anything Brady is a rare sight in the shop. A Brady snare on its own is a rare sight in the GRD showroom, and having the full kit here with the matching snare in this sort of condition is the kind of opportunity that doesn’t happen very often at all.
